I haven’t listed to any of the BBC radio stations via Sooloos recently. Today I searched for BBC Radio 3 using Channels / Tune-in Radio but couldn’t find any of the main national BBC radio stations (Radio 1, 2, 3 & 4). Lots of local BBC stations and of course hundreds of other stations worldwide. I definitely used to be able to listen to the BBC national stations. Any idea why I can’t now? Is it because of something to do with Sooloos or is it down to the BBC? Cheers, Jeremy

The BBC terminated their carriage agreement with TuneIn some time ago.

They seem to be alive and well on Tune In via Bluesound.

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Thanks for your helpful comments. I guess the BBC must have had good reason for ceasing live radio streaming via TuneIn but it seems a little strange when BBC programmes can be streamed through tablets, mobile phones, etc. Perhaps I've missed the point. Any suggestions as to what might be my easiest / cheapest method of being able to access BBC national programmes through my Sooloos system. Cheers. Jeremy

As I understand it, BBC now requires you to login to use their services. TuneIn refused to/couldn't add that capability to their service, which went against the BBC requirements, hence no agreement, no service.

No idea, but it wasn't a blanket ban. Plus, does Roon definitely use TuneIn for BBC programming?

Changes to access of BBC live radio streams on selected TuneIn platforms in the UK

Does Roon have an agreement with BBC that provides them with the data that the BBC require?

Quote
When we make our programmes available via third parties, we ask that those platforms either allow you to sign into your BBC account – or provide us with meaningful data directly. Unfortunately, TuneIn doesn’t do either of these, so we couldn’t reach a data sharing agreement with them.

I don't think Roon uses TuneIn or any other aggregator service.

They just use the raw URL from the station just like you would if listening on a device or PC.
