Warning: do not use de-magnetisation discs or tracks. These may have the potential to damage bass drivers.

I note that bass protection is listed as one of the features of the 8kSEs. I do not know what that is but it does not seem to be enough to give protection from de-mag tracks.

Have in mind that all Burn-in & De-mag tracks must be played at very low to medium low levels.
That is not only for the protection of Amps & Speakers, but also because only then they provide their beneficial effect.

I STRONGLY recommend their use, but only as described!

For your info, the best of all is the "PURIST AUDIO DESIGN Luminist System Enhancer CD & LP". Pricey but really worthy for even the last penny of its price.

At this time of lockdown and self-isolation there is no concrete proof and no evidence. My post is merely intended to spare others potential weeks of anguish. Somehow, my bass drivers appear to have become mis-aligned (yes, all 12 of them!). This was possibly caused by playing de-mag tracks. Thankfully, everything is now working properly.

I would like to thank Meridian for their help and support during this difficult time.

I have not heard the low-volume advice before. In fact, the instructions for my de-mag disc state that the disc should be played at normal listening volumes. Luckily, I only played it at volume 55 on the DSP display.

How do you think it would actually work at low volume?
