OK I just made a small upgrade to my system by buying 3 5200 SpeakerLink version speakers one of which is a 5200HC that was also upgraded to an Special Edition version.

Now 2 of my 3 legacy 5200s are going to be used as the rear channels and I'm wondering how to connect this to my system.

I assume the rears (legacy 5200s) are just going to be connected the original way with the COMMS cables.

But what about the SLs? Do they only require RJ45 connectors/cables? If so do I need to purchase these from a Meridian dealer or can I have someone make me a custom length cables with the RJ45 connectors?

TIA

You just need the SpeakerLink cable, it handles audio data and comms, a standard LAN cable will work, no need for anything special although if you want to open that can of worms 🐛 it is your choice.

Note although SL works with LAN cables it is not using LAN protocols so you can not use a network switch in the chain for example.
