It would seem not enough. I have the DMX6FireUSB sound card (as it is analogue output), sub, centre and 4 pairs of speakers (as the oldests kept breaking down) so I got in spares) to sell. To go with more recent and serviceable Meridian models I am looking at £5000-5500 looking both at current asking prices on eBay for Meridian speakers and what I might raise in selling off.
I have one box (external USB sound card, the controller is the computer) and 6 speakers - 7 signal and 7 power cables. I really do not want to add a daisy chain of devices and adapters with more cables and more electronics to go wrong.
I am still unsure of all the extra bits of kit and power supplies needed and some of the options suggested would bust my budget.
I am not looking for an upgrade or a better or even different sound. It is only the lack of components and the time and effort to get repairs on 30-40 year old equipment. My last repair bill was £480 and still I need a display chip. TechGuys do offer a redesigned circuit for the D600 at £300 per speaker which is good to know it can be done. One speaker now, three more soon after and two have lost bars on the LCD matrix. I have spent £1928 plus trips to take and then collect for each repair (100 miles away).

M6 don't, SpeakerLink only. DSP5200.2 has two SPDIF digital inputs, Meridian SpeakerLink RJ45 in and out miniDSP IO8 has SPDIF outputs. Devialet Phantoms are optical - TOSLINK. Yes, sorry. I should have said digital coaxial inputs like the D600 have. If DSP speakers had analogue inputs I would have simply upgraded to the newest model I could afford years ago. Just to clarify a couple of points, in response to your earlier comments: 1. While the M6 speakers (or the DSP3200/3300 for that matter) only have SL connections, I was making the point that you can still connect any of these speakers to a non-SL controller (processor) by using an adapter such as the AC11, AC12 or reviver. 2. DSP5200.2 has an SL input (+SL output) and a single SPDIF input (+ a SPDIF output to the slave speaker) _ you can think of SL as SPDIF on a Cat 5 connection _ in a similar way that, Digital Coax is just SPDIF on a phono connector and TOSLINK is SPDIF via an optical connection 3. All of the above speakers will require a Meridian controller/processor for multichannel use. 4. MiniDSP-IO8 has SPDIF outputs that would connect directly into the multichannel digital inputs on the G6x processor (e.g. MD 1-3). Processors carry two MD inputs (568.2mm only has one, but you can use a component video or via switcher if you need two). I don't know if you could connect the MiniDSP IO8 directly to your D600 speakers. Normally, you need the controller/processor to set the speaker distances/delay times and volumes for the DSP speakers, but I don't know if you could do that from your PC (with all of your speakers set up to the same volume level). 5. You could still use Devialet Phantoms by using an optical converter. Brian
