I think that for smaller rooms or at lower volume levels the combined high/mid range driver of the 3200’s produces a smoother sound over the 5200’s. I found this an interesting comment, could you elaborate?

Agreed, the 818v3 is a remarkable piece of kit, although it really shines with SE speakers.

I have Roon Nucleus to network switch to 808v6 (ID41) and use rendered analogue out to Prime, analogue in, for headphone use.
No MQA light on Prime, I just have to believe the 808v6 data sheet. My ears tell me this is correct.
808v6 SpeakerLink digital out to DSP5200SE MQA rendered, this way I have the best of both worlds without USB.
For me this is a very convenient high quality 2 channel setup, which meets the requirements of A N Other household member.

I think that for smaller rooms or at lower volume levels the combined high/mid range driver of the 3200’s produces a smoother sound over the 5200’s. I found this an interesting comment, could you elaborate? I listened to 3200, 5200SE and 7200SE. The 3200 were about 1.75m apart. The 5200SE to the outside of those and the 7200SE on the outside of those. I was sitting about 2-3m away. All speakers were being driven by 218’s I listened to a range of music but some of my preferred artists include Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen. The 7200SE sounded better than the 3200 at all volume levels, however, I often preferred the sound of the 3200 over the 5200SE at moderate sound levels. Only when turning up the volume did the 5200SE sound better than the 3200. I felt the sound of the 3200 was tighter and more cohesive than the 5200 and thought it might have something to do with the wide range driver which would work like a coaxial driver.
Finally the proud owner of a 218 and 3200's... Will they grow up to be an 818v3 and 8000 se's??? Isotek Sigma Evo 3 power conditioner

Thanks, interesting observations!
A lot of people seem to like 3200s - perhaps it's that wideband driver?
Personally, I think it would be great to see a true 2-way DSP standmount, specifically designed to be used with DSW, especially in times where living space (particularly in cities) is becoming smaller and smaller - might be a little niche, especially if the monitors were non-ported so they could be used right up against a wall, with the sub able to be positioned for best bass response.
Sorry, O.T.
