Also, if I press clear on standby on the 861 and 7200 they both set as Controller and manually changing them to one as controller and one not they do not speak to each other!

This is weird; maybe you have a dud SL lead?

Can both 861 and DSP7200 'see' the MSR remote when you press 'Clear' (So they both receive the Clear command)?

Do you have the Centre set as Master speaker in the Meridian Configuration you have uploaded into the 861 (after any re-typing you may have done?)
Red LED icon next to the centre speaker in the Meridian Config program speaker layout.
Default is front Left Front as Master, so you must have set this yourself and uploaded the config to the 861if you've retyped it.

Do you have the cable to the Centre speaker connected to the L&R Master out row on the 861, the row with the green stripe?

Are you connected to the speakerlink Input of the DSP7200HC?
There should be nothing else connected to the Centre other than Power.

Do you have the Centre speaker typed as a Master speaker? (Red led on it when in standby or normal operation)?

Have you tested that this is a 'normal' Cat5 cable? Wired the same at both ends. Not a crossover cable.?

Get the 861 and Centre speaker working correctly before moving onto the other speakers.
They won't influence how these two work together.

Yes Centre is Master with red led but pressing Clear when pointing the MSR at the 861 or Centre makes them both controller.

It is a 568B wired Cat 5 and tested to be working correctly.

Thanks for all your help, it turns out there was a fault with the Cat6 cable to the centre speaker. Now all sorted!

Thanks again!

Sometimes a cable will give you the biggest trouble yet it is the simplest fix.

Hey: That's what I suggested!

Glad you sorted it out.
