With the demise of Control:Mac and non-support by M does anyone know how to transfer albums from iTunes into a NAS QNAP storage system or must I go down the Roon road?
Many thanks

If it’s anything like my ReadyNAS, simply select the entire contents of your (iTunes) ‘Music’ folder and drag it over to the corresponding Music folder on your NAS.

It's not like your ReadyNAS.
Without reverting to Control:PC, I cannot remember any other way of importing files into Sooloos unless you still have a old working copy [so needs a legacy version of OSX] of Control:Mac lying around with the appropriate version of Sooloos. I cannot remember how many versions ago it disappeared from Sooloos. Unfortunately I do not think that an old copy of Control:Mac will work with newer versions of Sooloos as everything use to be lock stepped version wise and I doubt Meridian had the thought of breaking that artificial limitation with one last release of Control:Mac. But would love to be wrong on that.
However, not sure if the dBpoweramp method worked without the import through Control:Mac. Worth investigating.

Ian, the OP explicitly asked about transferring music from iTunes.

And Sooloos has an internal database and obfuscated file structure that you must import library and metadata into using Control:xx - Sooloos will not play from a regular file structure and I'm pretty sure it will not play from an iTunes library without first importing the audio files and metadata into its own databases and folders.

yes I'm aware of that hence my question: if I can't do it from iTunes via Control Mac app which I'm sure will not work at all with Catalina on my Mac can I get from iTunes to the QNAP Nas storage which Sooloos uses.

No. You need to use Control:Mac or Control:PC to load everything into the Sooloos database, download associated metadata and file it in its unique file structure.
