Has anybody heard about a new variant of the G68, the G68J or something similar. Like the ADV except, no radio, no video switching and no zones? And cheaper ...

Smart move by Meridian. I wish they had this option when I got my ADV. I don't use any of the above.. Maybe I can return the cards I don't use? ![[Linked Image from softronix.com]](http://www.softronix.com/ubb/smile.gif) /Sören

Very good move. A 568.2mm with room correction, and none of the frippery to offend purists. With HDMI2 at some future point, one does wonder what the optimum connection and switching aspects of a system will be. I wonder if a G62 might be a possibility? Such a pairing may also lower the Meridian surround cost entry point again, which is surely no bad thing for business?
C'mon Meridian, update the website with the new goodies!
Cheers
George

JM,
It makes sense if you are already in posession of a 562v.x, and never listen to the radio.

But I would like to see the back panel! Has anybody found pictures of it?

The G68J seems to be a dedicated model for Japan.
I have seen this in a Japanese magazine. It is said to incorporate the AAC decoding which is a surround format, just like DTS, that is a standard audio format in the Japanese HDTV broadcast. AAC is actually more commonly used than DD and DTS in local Japanese programmes.

Odd that it should appear on the price list of the distributor for the Netherlands?
I'd like to think that it will be generally available. A straight update of the 568.2mm with MRC seems an excellent move to me.
Cheers

Spoke to Meridian and they have confirmed that there is indeed a G68J available in the UK, 3650 GBP is the list price.
