I'm trying to do a Room Correction but I keep getting a error in MConfig.
Quote
Power is too low (-48dB); the minimum acceptable level is -44dB. Please check the input selection and connections (refer to the Configuration Program manual for more information). When using an SPL meter the C weighting must be used; the recommended range is 90dB (80dB if loudspeakers measured less than 75dB SPL during calibration).
The microphone that I'm using is a XTZ Electret microphone.
It is connected to A1 on my 861v8.
Anyone here that know what I might be doing wrong?
Main: 861v8, UHD722, 7200.2, 7200HC, DSW, DSP320 (Side), DSP520 (Surr) Sony VPL-VW500ES, Stewart 128" 2,40:1 StudioTek100.
Are you definitely connected to A1 as per this image ? If so are the Mconfig Settings specifying A1 as the microphone input, if both of those are correct have you tried using a different microphone?
I used A1 on my 861v8 both the label on the unit and that picture shows the top left one and in Mconfig it says IA04#01 A1. So I think I done everything right.
That microphone also has a USB XLR soundcard and that confirms that the microphone works I can see a meter move when I go into "Recording devices" in Sound settings in Windows.
This is all new to me so I don't know what could be wrong?
First, check that you are getting a signal from the front left speaker during the test, if not, you have some kind of connection issue from controller to speaker.
If you are getting a signal, what levels were you getting when you first calibrated the speakers - was it easy to achieve 75dB at the listening position? Does your mic have a range or weighting setting? If so, try 90dB band, C-weighted.
If SPL was borderline, or you had any kind of SNR problem, make sure the sensitivity is adjusted correctly for your particular mic - this is in the options dialog in Speaker Calibration or Room Correction - go do the Room Correction tab and see what's there - iirc, default is 2.0V but try adjusting up and down by one increment and note how it improves/makes worse the SPL and adjust further as neccessary.
