Is there something I should look for that is obvious? Such as a fuse or something?

Thank you

Typically you can hear the transformer hum slightly on switch on. If not, check the fuse/ power supply.

Yes there is a fuse in the housing where the power cord plugs in. It is very unusual for one to blow. If it is blown, replace it with the same type.

There is usually a spare in the fuse holder. If it blows again, there is a serious problem inside the speaker electronics.

I assume you have no display lights at all?

Thanks all. Yes there is absolutely no display and the slight hum when it powers on is absent. So clearly something early on in the chain.

Any idea of the fuse rating? Would like to have a spare handle when I open it up.

Mine regularly blow when I have a power spike after an outage, so a couple of times a year. I have a pack of fuses in a drawer thanks to my dealer.

It was the fuse!. There was a spare fuse inside which was very helpful as I didn't have to worry about the quality of the replacement.

Thanks all.

That has been my experience. Maybe here in the US it is different. As a dealer I have never had to replace a fuse in a speaker that didn't have a problem on the electronics board and that was only once. As an owner for twenty years the same is true.

I use these to great effect on both 861v8, UHD722, DSP8kSE, DSP7.2kHCSE and projector.

Synergistic Research BLUE Quantum Fuse 5x20mm - n Amp Slow Blow in their respective ratings.

PS. They need a few weeks burn-in to perform at peak. If you are just going to try one, put it in your digital/analog preamp.

The can of worms have been reopened, GL... wink

You should take care of power outages, as they have uncontrolled voltages and can destroy a lot. Your power distributor have to protect you, that is usual here in europe. You should search for surgery circuits, and install them. That is my strongly recommendation.
