Hello guys!
I have issue with my G61R, it starts freezing all the time.
I listen music for first 20-30 min and it goes just well but after a while frequent freezes appear.
The LCD screen works but there is no sound and no reaction to button pressing. Freeze lasts for 1-2 sec.
Firmware v1.07
Control:10, 551 with 515 MC, Argent A1

It may well be that the power supply is going off.
Mine failed and Meridian are now asking for a lot of money to fix it.
I'd suggest you stop using it and get the supply checked.

+1. This needs immediate attention as other parts can be damaged when the powersupply eventually fails.

What is the common issue with power supply? What do I need to check first?

You would need to check the voltage output under load. It should be up to 5.2 volts but do not exceed that. There is an adjustment pot on the power supply to tweak the voltage. Usually it is a matter of it being too low. If you do not know the history of the G61R then you should replace the power supply as a proactive measure. A replacement can be had for around $65.00. There are some capacitors that should be replaced as well.

+1 on replacement of the power supply. Not worth the risk. Is 5.2V the correct voltage for G series? Previous discussion

The service guide does say 5.1 volts and then goes on to say to not exceed 5.2 volts as I stated.

In the US, Newark Element 14. The part number is on the power supply. I am not with a reference to state it exactly at the moment but it has been mentioned many times in the forums.

From Digikey.com (other suppliers are available) Original part (ECM40UT31) Uprated part (ECM60UT31) You will also need some capacitors as Bruce mentioned. From memory they are 2x1000uF 16V and 2x2200uF 10V
