Guys,

I got a pair of 5200 but upon opening up the package I found that one of side of the speaker has this white smog under the paint.

I am not sure what it is, but the other side is just fine, is this something that can be fixed?

I am also getting this Weird code on the left speaker... any suggestions?

Thank you guys for all the help!

As for the display is this a custom source label gone bad? Does it display this all the time or does it change?
If so, how and when?

The paint issue escapes me, it kind of looks like a bad touch up job.

The display kinda goes flashing with these letters and kinda just stay there and the power on orange LED blinks (all the time) and just kinda stay this way ... really bad...

And the paint issue is really beyond me, the other speaker is just fine ...

There are many reflections in what looks like a beautiful finish, but sometimes if a sealer/clear coat is applied while the substrate is humid or the sealer/clear coat is applied during high humidity, it can produce a similar effect.

If it's one of the last coats it can also disappear on its own. how long ago did you unbox them?

Hi are these a new or used pair?

Looking at the image, it’s looks like there is a bloom on the surface, I’ve seen similar on high close automotive finishes normally a light polish will remove it. I recommend seeking advice from local French polisher.

Re the display... have you tried re-typing the speakers?

If that does not help, you could re-load firmware, but that’s more involved (but is coved in posts here on the forum).

Regards
Carl

Hi again,

You need to read (and re-read, and read again ... we’ve all done it) the DSP User Guide to setup and get the best out of your speakers.

Checkout page 27 “Configuring the DSP loudspeakers”, you should be fine but if you have any specific issues just get back to the forum.

Regards
Carl

In addition to the items Gcap lists, this can also happen if the paint is a water-borne paint (almost all are these days), and it is thinned out too much. If that's the case, the paint will need to be stripped down, and fully reprimered and repainted. Fingers crossed that it's not this issue.

Wrt to the odd display text, I had this on my previous processor years ago when the firmware upgrade didn’t upload correctly, so it might be a poorly EEPROM and you could try getting the firmware reloaded, but I’d get professional advice first - is there any chance of water moisture damage?
