Hello everybody!

I have 3 (three) dead Source:One and 4 (four) Control:10 units, all of them ceased to work, the last survivor is an ensemble and my 20k albums collection, on a QNAP. As I am trying to clean what I don`t really need from my collection, I see that I will need a lifetime to manually delete each album that I no longer need using Control:Mac, and the iPad app doesn't help at all.

So, please, tell me, is there a similar to C10/C15 option, to select several albums and simply delete them in this Windows app? If not, I will have to purchase one more Control, that wouldn't be a problem if that thing would be guaranteed to work, but, based on my experience, the taiwanese manufacturer of the mainboards did a horrible job and, as these things are ageing, they become useless... nobody can fix them...

The only thing I did not try, so far, is the Touch:PC, as I no longer use Windows.

I would spend some money on something, otherwise, totally useless, as a Windows Surface if anybody would be kind and tell me if you can select and delete multiple albums from the library, the same way the C10 or C15 did?

Just wondering out loud if your are aware of the motherboard battery issue, which is a simple fix for C10s IIRC.

Hi!

Yes, I am aware. It is, as always, the Southbridge chip.

I just need to clean the mess from my collection.
I guess, we will get to meet one day, as I am the owner of borg.audio, and pretty soon I will try and get my toys Roon ready. I know, I need to contact Rob Darling!

Do you know, TouchPC can ease my pain? I have to delete thousands of albums, and without the bulk select option, 5 clicks per album will make me lose a lot of time...

Have a nice day !

Maybe, you can PM me with your phone number?

Also, equally helpful would be a better parser than what we came up with for the Berkeley database from Sooloos

+1 on battery. These WILL DEPLETE over time to point that motherboard will look like it's failed - 5 years maybe before you can expect issues. Same with pretty much any PC, but most don't keep their PC's long enough to experience the problem. A service part, so normally DIY replaceable with a bit of dismantling.

Also have you seen the Sooloos library interrogator?

Hi Ian

Thank you for trying to help me.
No luck, the first thing that I have tried was that, I also know what's happening to the Source:One, losing some BIOS settings when the battery is flat. No, all 4 mainboards are dead...

Am I so lucky, the TouchPC can do the job that I need, bulk select and delete albums?

I am, asking everybody as I don't want to purchase something that otherwise I don't like (a Windows machine) just to try and see if it works.

Have a very nice day!

TouchPC will handle bulk select and delete, it's the same interface used on the C10's.

So, have you personally tried that, it works? In this case, thank you very much, I will go out and purchase Windows related hardware now.

Thank you very much!

TouchPC use to be and probably still is quite picky about screen resolution so double check this.

Hi!
Got a 1920x1080 Dell touch monitor and a silent barebone, i am so happy now that I can trim my collection !
True, the font below each album is not 100% perfect, still, I can finish what was important to me. I have tried adjusting clear type in Windows , the display is connected using display port connection, that`s not causing it, but these are details. Now I can throw away all the C10`s without regrets!

Have a beautiful day, everybody!

Please don't throw the C10's out. I am sure that someone over there can use the parts.
