Hi Gents

I'm still (happily) in the HD era, but curious to know what the various sources are for Atmos encoded content?

Do some standard Bluray discs, used with an older non UHD Oppo, have Atmos sound track variants available? Is it limited to new UHD 4k discs?

Do any broadcasters or streaming services offer Atmos?

I have Atmos on 4k BD played back on an Oppo 203, I don’t believe Atmos is available on 1080p BD, some Sky Movies come in UHD with Atmos, I think Netflix offer it to but not sure as I cancelled my subscription.

Quite a few BRs have Atmos soundtracks and virtually all UHD discs (list here )

In addition to Russ's comments, I believe the latest version of the Amazon Fire (Cube) supports Atmos. Also, the BBC are developing a version of Atmos which I have been told will be incorporated into Trinnov updates (but some way off).

It should be noted that ALL BR sound tracks benefit from an Atmos\DTS:X capable processor via the Dolby Surround and Neural:X algorithms. I think the latter is excellent.
