My M60s have not been used for nearly two years, but have been brought into service subject to a sale.
On powering up, one of the tweeters does not immediately work, only cutting in after a minute or so. Re-powering up repeats the manifestation.
After that appears to work fine.
Any ideas re what the issue may be?
Thanks

Is it just the tweeter or all sound?

My thoughts were a possible PSU issue as the M60 can have the same power supply resistor problem as has been discussed at length for the DSP5000, but that would likely affect everything.
If it is not the PSU it could either be an issue in the crossover or the treble amp. As it starts to work after a period of time it could either be related to heating or an electrical effect such as a capacitor charging.
Would you feel confident to remove the back and take a look and post some photos?

Thanks for your advice, Tarik,
The speakers are with the purchaser. I’ll wait to see what he says before taking further. I am presuming he will keep them, but will want help and a contribution(?) re fixing the issue, if it needs fixing.
I always left the speakers powered up, or if powering up, would leave them an hour before use, so would not have witnessed the issue.
Any further ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers

As it starts to work after a period of time it could either be related to heating or an electrical effect such as a capacitor charging. I'm not familiar with the circuits for these, but if they have relay protection / audio sense, it may be the circuit for that that has an issue, as above, probably aged capacitors not charging as quick as they should. Good luck, Steve

My buyer reports this evening that it took 1/2 hour before the tweeter kicked in. Is this likely to be a dry joint?
Tarik, did you put together a re-capacitor package for the DSP5000s? Presumably would be the same for the M60’s? Would you please PM me if this possibly a route to solving this issue that I do want to do.
Thanks
