I've recently purchase a 2nd hand Control:10, which operates fine. However, it has one minor issue, to shut the unit down from the touch-screen, it asks for a PIN, which I have no knowledge of...
I can't ask the seller as it was in effect a 2nd hand shop... I can shut the unit down remotely using the Sooloos utilities but that means having to fire up a computer.
Any ideas on how to reset the unit back to factory defaults or remove the PIN?
I'm happy to extract the hard disk and connect it to a PC if there is a file somewhere I can delete/edit.
Thanks in advance...

I've never had a chance to play with a real Control:xx screen, the software can either store its settings in text files on the disk/flash module or within the Windows Registry. The pin should either be:
In a file: \opt\Sooloos\kioskclient\pin
or in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sooloos\KioskClient\pin
Not sure if this helps,
Matt.

St Edd may have a bit more time on his hands since last Thursdays elections. If you don't get any success, hopefully he can help
