I bought this, thinking it would play DVD-A, but it has the 2.73 firmware that disabled DVD-A playback. It appears that some G91s were repaired by Meridian because of problems of DVD-A playback and at the time of the repairs the necessary cards/chips (I don't know exactly) were no longer available, making them functionally G92 (which had a slot loading disc transport). This particular player was acquired by its previous owner via a Meridian employee.
This makes an excellent stand alone CD/DVD player DAC & pre-amp, and cable boxes, TVs etc can also be connected.
As far as I can tell, these sell for roughly £900, mine is up for grabs at £750 because it does not play DVD-A.
Here are some
photos.
The player has original documentation, original packing including cloth bag, and an MSR+ remote in Silver, and can dig out more photos on request.
