take flagship B&W speakers and any amps at any price, throw in gazillion dollar wires and cables (for your voodoo bias) and A/B them over time w/ DSP8k's. it won't even be close, if you want the most accurate neutral sound.
if you want tiring and bright overdone sound, then yeah, sure, the b&w's will be preferable and you can make erroneous more at ignorant claims about dsp tech while you're at it. In my case, the flagship speakers were B&W 802Ns (now surpassed with super-duper diamond bits apparently), and the amp was a very good and very powerful Chord SPM1200E, the wires in and out were "only" Van den Hul. Swapped out the lot for DSP8000s and have not once regretted the change. I do like small near-field monitors though, but it is a different kind of listening. The Harbeths would be on my to try list along with Spendors, Dynaudios and Graham Audio.

Swapped out the lot for DSP8000s and have not once regretted the change.

I think it's what pleases you that sets the path on what you buy. I know many dealers with some very high end equipment that just don't care for the sound of Meridian speakers.
I have a Meridian preamp but obviously from my signature I don't have M speakers. I love my system but I have heard Meridian DSP speakers and I do like some models. Some I didn't care for but it's been many moons since I listened to them. Not sure I can find a dealer that still sells them near me.
Buy what please your ears!
