If 3D audio is not important, Stay with the G65 and 722 combo. The vast majority of surround systems we are installing are still 7.1 and 5.1. This is where Meridian does it best for music and movies.
Not forgetting that the link between 722 + G65 will be limited to 5.1 of course - you have to pay for an 861 to get 7.1 from the HD621/722
Does the G65 only do 5.1, it has connections for 7 speakers plus a sub? The 5.1 or 6.1 or 7.1 thing always confused me with Meridian, much simpler with my sound bar albeit not as good.
