Guys,
Maybe you can help me out. I've installed the new beta software for my 568.2. The only thing I did was to make a new format for DTS and now I have large clicks every 3 seconds as if the speaker or amp is in safe-mode.
What have I done wrong, or what is going on at the moment.
Thanks in advance!
Bjorn

Bjorn,
That is a strange one. So you say the newly created DTS preset is making clicks but your original is not?
Hold on a minute! DTS presets shouldn't exist any more with 568.2 version 2.5 beta.
You should delete any DTS presets you had made from the old software since it isn't supported any more. This may be your problem.
Load your type settings and delete all your self created presets as well as the pre 2.5 created cinema preset. All factory presets should have the option to return to default settings with version 2.5. Then you can start creating your own presets from the new 2.5 beta presets.
You may want to just start from scratch with a new type setup and delete the extra cinema setting.

Bjorn does not have a Meridian DVD player. 568.2 still has to do decoding. I guess he will need a DTS preset.

I think Ron is correct. I agree that the 568 will need to decode the DTS, but with the DSP unification in 2.5, DTS decoding is transparent to the preset. As far as the preset is concerned, it gets MOV2, MUS2, MOV6 or MUS6.
What I suspect is happening is that Bjorn has not converted his presets to the new 2.5 format, and thus has legacy DTS presets.

In the Meridian setup program supplied with the beta software, click on the 568 logo on the left hand side. You should be presented with a drop down box for product version. You need to select 2.5 and higher. I think that this will then convert the presets and your DTS ones will disappear.

Thank you all for your reply. I've reloaded the 2.5 update into the processor and erased all previous settings. This however seems to have worked, since I am able to play DTS tracks with no problems any more.
However I do have a question on DTS. In the past DTS was always configured wrongly in the processor for the LFE and had to be setup in a new preset, is this now correctly done in this new update?
Regards,
Bjorn

Hi Bjorn,
The only issue I found with the new beta is some of the default settings for the presets are not quite setup right. Some music presets needed to have the LFE dropped to -10 and I believe some of the movie presets were set at -10 and needed to be zero. Also you may want to set upsampling to "on" in all the presets. Some are not checked. Although the above is all your own preference to how you want it setup.

Hi Ron,
Since I am not using a Meridian DVD-player upsampling cannot be set to on... unfortunately... The issue with the LFE was also noticed by myself. Found it strange that in this update Meridian had made this small error. But since it is correctable should not be to big of a deal...

Bjorn

I thought the mus2/6 and mov2/6 thing was something for the MHR connected Meridian players. But if the 568 reads the bitstream, and sees DTS 5.1 coming in, it can off course display mov6
Good that it works now.

Bjorn,
Any PCM stream can be upsampled. DTS/DD can not unless you have a Meridian DVD, 598/G98/800. It doesn't need to come from a Meridan DVD if only 2 channel PCM. Only multichannel digital streams can be upsampled with a Meridian DVD.
So you can set the upsampling to on for PCM. The option to upsample disappears when decoding DTS or DD in the 568.2
