Hi all,

after rationalising my system down somewhat, I dug my G55/G91 combo out of storage and both are playing up.

the G55, although going into standby, wont power up and the G91 only goes through a complete power up 1 in 10 times.

after speaking to a dealer, it seems the G55 is a PSU issue and the G91 is either a transport or software problem.

is there anyone out there doing after market repairs or offering spares as the dealer told me going via Meridian is a very expensive option?

thanks for the advice.

James

Meridian often offers flat rate repairs for it's products in the US.

Any competent repair shop can get an amplifier sorted.

The G91 however, I would leave to Meridian. The issue with the G91 is whether or not the appropriate spare parts are available. If it is failing to completely boot all the way a quick check of the powers supply output may help. It should be 5.2v.

Via my PP, I submitted my G95 to Meridian for an estimated cost of repair.

If you still value your items it's worth getting such an estimate.

You don't necessarily require a 'friendly' dealer.

I bought my G95 on eBay. My local PP was obligated to send my unit to Meridian, even though I didn't buy it from them.
