The $20 is probably pretax. Local sales taxes in US range generally 6-9%. Collection of state tax, but not local sales taxes on such a transaction, would be common. This would be affected in theory by whether the seller has "nexus" in the domicile state of the individual purchaser.

With EU pricing including tax, that closes the gap a tad [British for a tiny bit]. Yes, it does seem that 20 is somebody's favo[u]rite number. Or perhaps whoever ran the income forecast can only do basic math[s]. 😎

I have learned that you have to set a price that is easy and you don't have to keep raising.
It may seem expensive early on but becomes more reasonable over time, especially when you get to appreciate the quality.

Progressive price rises can easily alienate people, so I think the tactic of setting a price and not raising it unless you really must is a good one.

Perhaps I'm wrong but that's how I view it now. Chris

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Thanks again for all the feedback. Just to report that, with a smattering of IT skills, I managed to use a US-based VPN to pop along to Tidal's website (after deleting cookies!) and opted for 6 months at $16.99/month by agreeing to pay upfront - after a first free month.

Andy 😎
