Hello

I currently have a 3 DSP5200SE connected to a G65. I also have an ATV (latest version) and HD621 and a synology NAS.

I would like to stream music in the highest quality possible but don't know what to use and if I miss a piece of equipment, I hope not smile

Thank you for your help.

ATV is not your best solution for high quality, have you considered Sooloos or Roon?

This is a very tough question, but you do have SE loudspeakers and you do state "highest possible quality".

The simple answer is an 818v3 into your G65, but you do not get the most out of either the 818 or the SE speakers with this architecture. The best possible result (excluding any need for room correction) is an 818v3 direct into two of your SEs.

First, can you rule an 818v3 in or out?

Second, is your requirement actually: "I would like to stream music in the highest possible quality through my G65 to all three speakers"?

If your budget is limited, the imminent arrival/launch of the Yamaha WXAD-10 will significantly outshine your current AppleTV.

Thank you for your answers smile

My budget is limited (new baby etc.).

Is Roon a good fit? How would it work?

Currently I stream music over my ATV and agree not the best sound.

Although I'm a Roon developer, I'm not au fait with your QNAP model, so I'm not going to recommend anything there.

If *I* was to go with Roon with your kit and budget, then I'd probably get an MS200 and stream to that given that the G65 is 96k limited anyway. You then get the choice of up-sampling in Roon, the MS200, or the G65. Plus MQA decoding is coming to Roon.

would the Yamaha WXAD-10 do this great ? not sure if I can afford a MS200.

VirusKiller you also mention G65 would provide 96k, I guess vs 192K ? do I loose a lot if I stream ?

Hi Joel

Would the 218 be a good fit for MQA to the SE's?

Don't buy anything till you can afford decent/matched front end. You got great speakers, don't waste your money with a small incremental update. Save it for later or spend it on the baby. You may find that when baby comes along, you will reassess your music requirements and you have money tied up in great kit doing nothing.

Ok I see in the restaurant that a MS200 is around 200, this should be okay... the 818v3 is not frown

Hi,

Why not just substitute an Apple AirPort Express for the ATV (optical input to G65). That's cost effective relative to the 818v3.
