Hi. I am still considering the G98DH/G68ADV setup ( analogue, of course)... however I see the G68 only has 3 component inputs ( if it had an HDMI, my problem would be solved).. I need 4 component inputs... is there aa extra component input on the D98 that could be used?

I want to use the 98 as a scaler... from what I have learned you can run the video from the G68 back to the G98... but that uses a component input, right?

Anyone have a clue if I can do this or just have to go to another brand?

If you do actually require 4 component inputs, then you are probably out of luck, short of adding further component switchers such as a 562v3. However, the G98 will convert the other inputs, S-video, composite to component/HDMI and still scale them, so you may beable to use one of them. This may not be such a limitation when you take into account the fact that the G98 can only scale interlaced SD sources. HD and progressive sources will only be passed through as is. Of course, you don't neeed a component for the G98 DVD player as its all internal.

I must say that only scaling interlaced sources doesn't make sense to me!
I wonder who came up with that idea at M?

I guess the philosophy is to use the deinterlacer in the G9x.
