Hi,
I need a service manual for the 201 Mk3. Meridian have one on their site but it is for an earlier version and is missing a page showing the assembly diagram (page 8-16).
Could someone explain how I go about taking the 201 apart. Is there an assembly diagram available for this unit?

I do not know this for sure, but I expect the 201 is mechanically not too different from the 207 etc. (which I have). On these, go to the back and look for the larger screw more or less in the centre of the backplate. Undo this screw and then slide the electronics/chassis carefully by pulling forward from the front of the unit.

Thank you for replying Longitude but the screw in the centre of the backplate on a 201 Mk3 is just for the earth connection to the chassis. I loosened it as recommended in the earlier 201 service manual but then realised it did not help in the dismantling of the unit.
In the end I found out how to do it from another post in this forum from JCD. Quote:
"Not sure re Mk3, think mine is a MkII. General procedure for all single unit 200 series that I own is:
1- Remove underside two screws that secure front display section 2- slide out display section 3- remove top section screws from rear of unit that holds top section 4- slide off two clips at front that hold top section and lower section together 5- lift off top section.
You should be inside the 201 now.
Hope this helps.
John"
A Service Manual for the 201 Mk3 would be very useful as the unit has to be dismantled in order to change the phono from MM/MC.

Well, that is very interesting and quite different. Thank you for sharing this.
