Meridian Unplugged - Powered by MrTechGuy.co.uk Forums Discussion Meridian - Systems 598/800 MHR and 861 not working on CD and DD DVD

I'm helping a freind of mine burning in/setting-up his
800/861 combination. I must have beem missing something obvious maybe. When I play DTS DVD on the 800 or my 598 the record plays just fine. But when I play a CD or a DD DVD there is no sound, I need to use the AUX on both player and use the CD input on the 861 to get sound. What could be the problem?

Could it be that in the 861 you have configured the input with the "only play DTS for this source" option?

Mark

Have you configured the multi channel input ?
Also the 800 has to be setup correctly to output MHR on the multi channel output.
- Decode bitstream in player: main only
- Maximum sample rate: 96 Khz
- MHR: main only
- enable multi channel output: yes

And than in the 96 menu (This is the "96" menu that you get by pressing <9><6><enter> on the remote with the Disc tray open) check:
- the decode DTS option needs to be set to "no" and the decode MPEG option needs to be set to "yes".

That is about it..

Ok, thank you for your suggestions so far. But,
was actually the case that the mech drive in the 800 does not work properly. And after retyping the 598 to 1 it now works with the 861, almost.
When I play CD I get stereo, when I play DTS I get full 5 channel sound and when I play a DD DVD I don't get sound in my center.
So another problem, maybe.
Someone?
