A few weeks back I upgraded my FL/C/FR DSP33's to 1.07 s/w from I think 1.04. I have not subsequently reconfigured them via PC config.

The upgrade sonically worked fine, but a few weeks down the line, I've noticed the DSP33's are not going to standby - green light remains bright. There is nothing that I can do to put them into standby.

Im 99.9% convinced its not comms related as they respond 100% of the time to volume commands and pressing system display off/on the LED turns off/on as expected.

Anyone had similar, possibly v1.07 related? I cannot recall anything else changed since I noticed the problem.

I am using them in conjunction with G68 (controller), G98 and 598DP.

I understand that there is a G series comms setting for some speakers but this is meant to be compatible with 500 comms. Also, not sure if its applicable to DSP33's. If anyone has info on this, I would also be interested.

I think the green light is just a power light.I don't think its meant to go off but just to dim. You can use your Reset key to reset them just to be sure.

Disconnect the Comms, Power Off then Power On again with the Reset key in each speaker.

I think you bring up a good point. After reading your post I checked my LED's also from standby to on in the dark and I am having the same result as you there's no change in the LED brightness. I went on line to Meridians web site and checked the DSP33 manual and they are suppose to dim when the units go into standby see page 20.I just upgraded the software to the latest version. I never thought to check that before. Maybe there has been a change,hopefully someone can give us an answer.

Yes they definately use to dim in standby as I use to see a slight reflection of the light on the shelf when they were on, and not when they were in standby.

I've got a call out with Meridin about this following on from jose' communication that he kindly forwarded to me.

Just out of curiosity, what is your configuration and do you have a 511 patch box in the loop?

I am now at work so I won't be able to let you know if I have a 511 patch until I return home I can't remember. My components are, 861/800 and I am using the 33's for my side surrounds with 7000's in the front and 5000's rears with a 5000c as my center.Last night we had a storm that woke me. So I got up and went back to my theater room and looked at the LED's again in the dark the reflection off the wall seemed to be dimmer than usual. To confirm I powered up the system in the dark and low an behold the LED's on the 33's brightend up. But that's not the end of the story.When I was awakend by the thunder and lightening we had an instant that the power to our house was interupted, I wondering if that slight interuption allowed the 33's to go into standby? After that is when I checked the 33's. This makes me wonder if the 861 is not sending the signal to the side channels to go into standby as it does the other speakers, it is my controller. I then switched the 33's on and off with the rear switches and I could not get the 33's to duplicate and go back into standby. So I am at a loss as to why they were in standby after the short power interuption. I am going to reboot my 861 this evening and see if that may give a clue(just thought about that).I will let you know this evening if I have a 511 I believe I do.

Official word from Meridian ~ its a new feature!

If DSP33's were muted but on, ie as they previously would have been in standby, would you expect hiss from the speakers? All 3 of mine are hissing, even with comms or audio disconnected.
