Yeah it works fine Lee, just plug them into the main analogue outs.

Or you can buy a couple a phono coupler and run a sub with the speakers direct, you don't need a processor if running 2 channel.

I ran them with the 568, DSP33c and a Rel sub recently for a few weeks and it was good, set the crossover to 80hz and they start to really sing at all levels.

I have an M33 centre so would expect a similar performance I guess? Will need to check out the sub you suggest. The grills are a pain on the 6000's by the way are they not!!

Cheers

For music, most RELs are excellent when (as they can be) they are carefully adjusted to integrate well with the main speakers. Typically this means using much restraint. Live music (with the obvious exception of the boosted bass of heavy rock and the like) has remarkably little bass and you don't want to create it when it wasn't really there. Well, not unless you want to which is, of course, entirely your choice. Well adjusted RELs fill a deep gap but remain subtle . Check out with solo piano: you'll soon hear if you have artificially coloured it up. I should add that DSP33s have, for their size, remarkably good bass and only need a little help.

thanks.

While i do listen to music via this route - direct from the HTPC - usually tidal via Kodi for easy background music, most of my serious listening is in a another room via the squeezebox/ac200/5200 setup. As such its more of a TV/Movie thing to be honest. Will i gain much with a sub in play? We tend to stream via Kodi which in the main is 2 channel PCM material, it can be quite comparatively low on volume level vs Sky and Bluray.

A sub will always fill a gap with modestly sized speakers. Used with restraint music becomes more relaxing (I find) because one's brain doesn't have to fill in what is missing. For movies and TV you could be less restrained and just enjoy the fun of the effects and you might not need or want something as uncoloured as a REL. Subs have dropped a good deal in price lately so you can pick up an adequate but compact KEF/Mission/Celestion second hand very cheaply - though older ones can develop annoying faults from capacitors in their voltage regulator circuits. The better news is that the parts cost to repair is peanuts and there is plenty of guidance on the net about how to do it should it happen to yours.

Appreciate the guidance, it's certainly given me something to consider.

Are you talking about Beolab speakers here?

The 6000s will run on "line-in" RCS, like you say.

But beware if you use them for rear surround (as I do) !!
The rca is "signal sensing" and due to the rear not normally being on all the time on surround soundtracks they turn off.
The only problem is there is a delay when they turn back on that can ruin the effect ...

I have a complete Beolab 5.3 system and use converting cables from RCA and 12v trigger out on my processor, to Beolink plug with 5v trigger-in for the speakers.
That way they turn on with the TV/DVD/processor, and more importantly don't turn off until I turn off one of the above.
Hence the "headache" thing in my sig laugh

I've been with B&O for few years now, and from a design point-of-view they're quite excellent.

True story :
I once bought a Meridian 7.2 system and when I told my (designer) girlfriend what I'd done she asked to see a picture.
"Where are you going to put that? In the garage ? " she said before walking off.

I still have B&O ... laugh

The Beolab8000 sounds much better than the 6000.
The 4000 are real good speakers and a good alternative to both the above.
Sound better than the 6000 and easier to place too.
I had a pair in the "listening room" before I replaced them with 8000s, and I'm tempted to go back to them ...

All have problems with deteriorating rubber surrounds on the drivers, but it's cheap enough to repair or replace.

Speaking of Beolab speakers.

A couple of weeks ago I was making my somewhat usual pawn/antique shop hunt. And happened to notice a B&O system consisting of a 3200 on a stand and a pair of Beolab 9 speakers. Long story short, I offered $330.00 and the offer was accepted. One of my best finds in years.

Good find !!!
Them little Dalek speakers were around 10k new laugh

I live in a house we're speakers must blend in, so no chance I could have them.
They're more of a speaker for being "alone", acting as art.
Imho.

I've had a few 3200s over the years.
Check eBay as I sold my last one for around 350 a couple of years ago now.
Selling that alone could get you your money back.

I will more than likely sell the 3200 and use an Elac Discovery in its place. Its dimensions allow for near perfect placement on the BS3200 stand. It even has a somewhat matching Danish design.

I have totally gotten away from spinning CD's unless I am in my office where I plop it in to import into iTunes.

Ianc2,

I get this with mine on the front left and right, when there is a 5.1 DD source at times. Where would I pick up one of the triggers you suggest?

Had to laugh at this BTW, exactly the same response from my misses when I started talking about bringing Meridian speakers into the living room. We have a detached garage off the plot in a courtyard and she was still deadly serious.

I've had to "disguise" the M33C with various paraphernalia including a potted plant and candle holder!
