Audirvana has not announced the requirements for their new, but not released, next version which promises MQA. Currently, any Mac Pro, iMac or laptop made in the past 5 or 6 years will run the program. (No iPads or iPhones) I would guess that additional processing power needed for MQA might eliminate the really old machines like my 2007 MacBook Pro with OSX 10.9 that runs Audirvana Plus today.
From their FAQ:
Audirvana Plus needs at a minimum:
A 64bit Mac (Core 2 Duo or later) OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or later. 2GB RAM as a bare minimum
However, for a best experience, it is recommended to have:
OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or later 4GB RAM or more
Server: Audiolinux Roon NUC w/HAF room correction and crosstalk cancellation Theater: 218, Allo Signature, miniDSP, HD621, C61R, DSP5200SEu, 420, 33, NHT subs EtherREGEN w/Finisar fiber, Shunyata Denali Living Room: RPi4 Diretta Host & Target, Ghent USB > Singxer SU-6 > AES NA M-Links > DSP9 Shunyata TritonV3, LHY lps, Farad Super3, Stack AUVA feet

My preference would be a 'recent' Mac Mini, with A+ Remote on an iOS device for control, feeding a Meridian Explorer2, 218, or Prime.
However, if looking for a new Mac, Kaby Lake processors are expected in Q2 for MM and MBP.

On further reflection; having recently experienced the benefit of PCIe drives, I would buy an i7 Mac Mini with 256GB PCIe flash drive. Added to this, I would buy a matching miniStack Max with the SSD of your choice, plus added BDR/W drive.
