Can somebody please direct me to where I might find a wiring / setp diagram for the rear panel of an 861.

I am relocating my sytem and adding / re-arranging some components.

The manual is useless , no explanation as to where everything should plug.

Thanks

Maybe it would be easier if I tell you what I have and some genuis can tell me where to to connect leads to back of 861

816 V4
Fronts 8K's
Rears 8K's
Centre 5K
D2500 Subwoofer

Here we go....

I have one cable marked FRONT (2 leads - one lead with DIn plug , the other lead with digital out plug )

I have one cable marked REAR (2 leads - one lead with DIn plug , the other lead with digital out plug )

I have one cable marked CENTRE (2 leads - one lead with DIn plug , the other lead with digital out plug) The DIN plug on this cable has a different pin layout to DIN plugs on other cables...??

I have one cable marked CENTER SLAVE (1 lead with a DIN plug)

I have one cable marked SUB ( 1 lead with a DIN plug)

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

I would still like to find a document which explains how these cables are connected...So next time I dismantle or modifty system I will not have to ask again.

Thanks

Tony,

Try this document from Meridans web-site. http://www.Meridian.co.uk/apps/565wire3.pdf
This is for 565, but is applicable to 861.

Connect speakers to the OE12 card output as follows
Left/Right -> 1/2
Centre/Sub -> 3/4
(Sides(L,R) -> 5/6)
Surround (L,R) -> 7/8

If I remember correctly the speaker outputs (coax phono connections) on OE12 is marked from top 1/2 to bottom 7/8.

The comms part of the cable (DIN plugs) connects to the SL00 card. If you do not have that card you can daisy chain these.

One comms plug has a different layout and connect to one of 861 comms connections. This cable is marked with a M (master). Other cables marked S (slave).

The Master comms cable connects between your Master Speaker and 861 comms port.

Master speaker is usually Centre

Tony,
Check this page out: http://www.Meridian-audio.com/lib_apps.htm
Under the section is also the document Geir pointed to (that seems to describe your situation the best)

When you have all your speakers wired up and Comms leads connected , just Press ' Clear' on your remote and your system will Auto-configure .
