I have the newest version of the config program.

Through the front buttons the calibration works.

Can you confirm the version (click on help and then about, to display it).

Can you confirm what source the DSP display during SPL calibration.

Also can you confirm that you have re-typed your DSP speakers to type 6 and then reconfigured.

Carl

So what's the Mconfig sw version?
In Mconfig click on "help", then select "About the Meridian Configuration Program..."

Did you also try the rear speaker or only one rear speaker to avoid the fronts?
Does "speaker calibration" also work with Mconfig?

Please answer all open questions beside my questions, thanks.

With my simple configuration that I created for testing with only the front L and R speakers, I have added a CD on A1 and a Radio on A6.

A1 is connected to the analog outputs of a DVD player.
A6 is connected to the headphone output on my iPad.

I tried setting the type of the speakers to both type 5 and 6.
I tried using both D1 and D2 for each type.

The speakers and the 861 display CD or Radio and the volume, but no sound is played.

I tried the "Calibrate" button from behind the panel on the 861:
861 shows Sine and then the frequency sweep
Speakers show CD or Radio and volume, but no sound is played.

When I had tried this earlier with the full configuration I had been using the Blu-ray input (input is MD1 from the HD621 3 x Coax connections) and this works for the Calibration but not the Room Correction.

The room correction noise (and the SPL calibration noise) is gererated by the processor. Mconfig via RS232 is responsible for coordinating the process, instructing the processor and recording the results.

I added the center channel and rear speakers back into the configuration, and then created a new measurement file and selected only "Rear Right" or "Rear Left".

The results were the same when running the room correction, the speaker displays:
Radio 40
Radio 87
Radio 65

without generating any sound.

I just noticed that ThePioneer and I both have 861v4 with ID40 cards.
Could this be related to a problem with the ID40 and IA00 cards interfering with each other?

That would mean that the computer card is faulty. But it is strange that all of the rest is working like it should.

I tried everything I could think off and I am going to give up. I guess the only option is to try another computer card. Sinds those cards aren't avalible to me, it is a dead end.

This sounds more than just the Card Responsible for generating the MRC Noise. Because what you did above is pretty basic and doesn't even involve Noise Generation.

Is the ID40 card officially supported in 861v4?

I know you guys are getting worn out and may need mother ship involved to sort this out.

But is it possible to just tell it, in MConfig, the ID40 isn't there?

The ID40 is officially supported in a V4. That is not the problem.

Seems you have been trying a bit, with some great (moral) support here, but still no progress. Usually Meridian support is quite responsive. Have you shot them an email?

I just send an message to Meridian support. I hope they know what could be wrong.

For me it is not nessesary to have room correction, but I want it to work like it should.
