We have just received our first Bluesound Soundbar and it is very impressive indeed. Even more so with MQA as you would expect.

It represents fantastic value at £999.

Regards,
Richard.

Reminds me of discussions both here on HH and with various senior chaps at HQ about how cool it would be for M to make a soundbar device. Almost everyone in the group I was with said they would buy one for use with a TV and we all knew of friends and family that were ok with soundbar as an idea even if they weren't ok with hifi per se.

Unfortunately, the conclusion from around the table was that it would never fly; not worth doing, too expensive, never have a spec that would satisfy enough of the market, etc. Shame as a Meridian sound bar using some of the small tech found in the later smaller DSP devices would no doubt sound very capable.

Roll the clock forward a couple of years and here is a sound bar that is 192 capable, MQA capable and is even Roon-Ready. I can't see anywhere in the spec that it is Sooloos ready though so how might a Sooloos user get MQA to it would remain a bit of a puzzle.

Opportunities missed I think....

Hi Nick

Maybe it is one of the exciting Sooloos developments coming soon? the whole situation reminds me of the Oozlum bird...

The oozlum bird, also spelt ouzelum, is a legendary creature found in Australian and British folk tales and legends. Some versions have it that, when startled, the bird will take off and fly around in ever-decreasing circles until it manages to fly up itself, disappearing completely, which adds to its rarity. Other sources state that the bird flies backwards so that it can admire its own beautiful tail feathers, or because while it does not know where it is going, it likes to know where it has been.

A bientot

It would have to be built into a wall wouldn't it?

Aha. It's already here...
