Can the original Kef T33 with ferrofluid tweeters be replaced with the Kef T33 SP 1074 non ferrofluid units, both are 8 Ohm.
Gerard.

I thought the T33 was used in the M100 but not the M10, the T52 was originally in the M10 (as with the M2 & M3)?
If it is the T33 I believe some people have had success replacing the ferrofluid (I've not tried this myself). Also, you could look at the Audax TW025 as a direct replacement (although you'll need a faceplate for this to fit correctly).

Hi John,
The earlier M10's had the T52's but later versions had the T33's, so obviously there is no problem replacing like for like, and yes you can do the ferrofluid replacement and there are people that offer that service, I may do that if I take the old T33's out. My question however is can the original T33's be replaced by the T33's SP1074 that do not require ferrofluid and would avoid this problem down the road. Also whilst there seems to be agreement that the ferrofluid does dry-up over time, how can I actually tell if this has occurred to my tweeters without actually taking them out and replacing the fluid ? Would like to stick with the similar tweeter set-up as intended by Meridian unless speakers no longer available.

I don't think Kef make the T33 any more so you'd either need to find a used pair or NOS (New Old Stock, not Nitrous Oxide Systems ). Have you checked if the response measurements of the SP1074 match the unit as they can be sonically different even though they are both T33 units (I don't know enough to check this myself). The Audax is a unit that is still in production as far as I know. If the fluid has gone off it should give a rather dull sound and if you take it apart you should be able to see this (I think there may even be some videos on youtube about this and there's plenty of other info on the web). Ultimately you could try the SP1074 to see how they sound.
