I have recently replaced my G65 with an 861v8 and am putting everything back together again this morning but I have a question regarding the C15 link up. I have a speakerlink running from the C15 to SL1 slot on the 861. For the Ethernet, I run the Ethernet from the C15 direct to the router and everything works fine; but should I also run an Ethernet from the ID41 card direct to the router (or instead of the Ethernet from C15)? The problem I have when I run a cable from the ID41 is that I get a message on the C15 saying 'This device's IP address is in a range that prevents it from communicating properly with other devices on the network. Typically this is due to a mismatch in the first three values of the address but could also be due to a conflict with another device using the same address'. Any advice gratefully received on what's going on and how I should be linking up correctly to get best use of the ID41. I am not at all techie so please keep it simple! Thanks a lot, Bernie.

Both C15 and ID41 must be connected to your router.
There is no point connecting the C15 to the 861 as (a) the ID41 gets its audio over the network, and (b) the ID41 has vastly better sound quality than the C15's SpeakerLink output.

I have disconnected the SpeakerLink cable leaving just the two Ethernet connections but now there is no sound at all. I can see from the C15 that something is playing as the timer is counting down on the track. Looking at the device manager on the C15, it is still telling me that there is an IP address conflict, same message as previously reported.
Any further ideas? Thanks a lot

No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone
Yes, C15 has DHCP, system core and enable storage all ticked. ID41 only has DHCP which is ticked but ID41 IP address is in red with a warning triangle that gives the conflict message. Thanks

Is there anything that should be entered into the configuration program? I had the SpeakerLink connection from C15 to 861 but I have since deleted it as no need for the SpeakerLink connection.

Yes you have to connect up the net input on the ID41 card to the Sooloos system in Mconfig. And make sure that the AUX (SLS) source uses the ID41 as its audio input.
For the IP address issue, I would switch off your network devices and reboot the router. Then switch each device on one by one check that its IP address is allocated.
I use a network scanning app call fing on an iPad to id my devices.
If you use any fixed (no DHCP assigned IP) make sure these an outside the range of the DHCP pool (whilst on the same subnet of course).
Thanks for all your advice and in particular to Russ who helped me via telephone. I am now enjoying my music anew (accompanied by a bottle of wine). Thanks, Bernie
