Has anyone experienced problems with the sound changing from loud to low, I have 861v8, Samsung TV, Talktalk box, the sound keeps fluctuating from low to high or vise versa, and the quality is not very good.
Also it appears that my right channel speaker will have some interference on it intermittently. I have 7200SE front and middle, 5200SE rear.
I have tried each component separately, to try and isolate, can't find out what is causing this issue, TV works fine. I have volume going from the Talk Talk box via HDMI, straight through to the HD621.
I am not sure if it's my 861 playing up, check display on the 861 when volume changes to see if the display on front changes, when this happens, or if it is the Talk Talk box, just curious if any one else has experienced similar problem.
My 861 will intermittently show the old display on start up, which it should not, as it was programmed for PVR mode, on that particular source. Also occasionally clipping.
Can someone out there please advise, or help. I personally feel the whole sound quality has deteriorated, but owing to on going illness, I am struggling at the moment to understand.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Ronniejohn68

Does the volume change with channel or programme changes?
It could be switching between Dolby and PCM if that's the case. Dolby has compression settings that could cause large volume changes between that and full scale PCM.
Just a thought. From your post I'm guessing it's more random, but maybe worth eliminating.
Cheers,
Mark.
