Query regarding MC200.

1, Can a wireless USB dongle be plugged in so I can use it on wireless instead of having to plug in a network cable?

2, Can I swap the internal hard drive to a larger size to increase the 500GB capacity of the one installed? Say a 2TB?

3, Will the MC200 support MQA?

Thanks

1. No. You need to use an ethernet cable to connect it to the internet. This cable could be attached to a wireless "dongle" (like the Apple Airport Express acting as a wireless bridge to your router, for example.

2. You're not allowed to discuss this on this forum. The operating system on the MC200 sits on the hard drive, so it's not a trivial swap. Any swap would invalidate your warranty.

3. Only in so far as MQA music held on the MC200 can be output to an an external MQA decoder. It will not decode MQA music to its unfolded form and output it via it's SPDIF or SpeakerLink.

On Page 3 of the MC200 User Guide it shows an Expansion Slot on the back. It says "Expansion USB - For connecting a compatible WiFi receiver for a wireless network connection".

From that I would assume that yes you could use it over Wifi. I have no idea what is "compatible" though or how well it would work.

It does say that, I agree. However, Meridian never activated it.

And I was just about to start asking questions about that ....

Thanks, you saved me the time of asking the question. That's how good this forum is !

That'll teach me for RTFM rather than reading the posts here.
