A falling iPad took a chunk out of the facia of my 861 leaving a chip about 0.5 - 1mm deep. Any suggestions as to the best way to repair it so it doesn't look too noticeable? I realise I won't be able to do a perfect job.

Ooops, that Must have hurt!
Unless you are really handy and secure and know what you are doing i would say leave it alone. A professional spray painter may be able to do a spot repair, just like a car.
Did you check your insurance policies already, you may be able to claim the damage.
As it is a very expensive controller, personally i would get it repaired at Meridian.
Good luck.
Cheers!

Where do you live?
I know a specialist surface repairs individual who repairs all manner of surfaces from UPVC windows baths stone brick right through to glass.
I could ask him if he feels he can fix it?

Thanks for the replies. I showed the damage to a friend of mine who does car body repairs and his assessment was that it would be very difficult to repair properly without respraying the entire facia since the top edge would require rebuilding. I’ve decided to do a touch-up job for now and get it required properly in the longer term. I also damaged my iPad so quite an expensive day overall.

I took some heat for suggesting this before but you could try buying a can of automotive bumper touch up paint. The trick is in trying to match the sheen or satin look of the finish. I own a precision metal fabrication business and work with finishes all the time. From memory, this paint should get you close.

This must be a record - three consecutive posts by owners of Vivid speakers, and in order of seniority too - GI, G3 and B1! Fantastic speakers.
I've just touched up a chip on the facia of an older 861 processor in black - I used Humbrol Satin No 85 and it worked well.

Thanks, I might do that if it's as much as 2000eur. That seems very steep if it's just for replacing the outer surround part.
