Yep, as I predicted back in Jan. the time has now rolled on to nearly May and I've finally made my investment in a G68, but there's still no PLIIx for the 568.2. Frankly, it's a moot point for me personally now, but I hope they get it for the rest of the 568.2 owners out there before the 2005 [Linked Image from softronix.com]...

How does it sound compared to your old 568.2?

Can't comment on the sound yet as only just got it and it hasn't been unpacked yet. From memory it's a silver unit. Unfortunately, I've realised that they probably supplied me with a ADV not AXV considering I've been using the 568.2 balanced outputs for the front and centre channels. Apparently the AXV is in very low supply at the moment which would have also meant a significant delay. I can see myself scrounging around the house decent cables, let's hope I've still got something in RCA. Otherwise I may be sacrifing the AQ Python's from my rears and sides for the time being. I'm not super keen on losing the XLR capability especially from my M 559 amp. We'll see how it pans out over the weekend...

PLIIx for the 568.2 should be there in a few weeks.

Meridian told me last week that the new software to fix bugs and add PL2x is in Beta testing with no problems so far. It shouldn't be very much longer for the release on the 568.2.

Well I've slammed Meridian quite a bit on this forum for taking so long to release fixes for the 568.2! I rest my case! Here it is already more than two weeks since they told me it was in Beta and should be out shortly. They have told others on this forum that fixes and DPLII would be out shortly...even back in January they told us it would be out shortly. Lies! Lies! Lies! Like I said in the past...Meridian is nothing like it was back in 2000. I used to tell them about bugs and I would get modified code within a couple days in an email. Now I feel they don't give a damn about the customers anymore. It is so sad!

You know what else pisses me off...they announced this upgrade back in Sept 9th, 2003. False advertising!

It could also be offcourse that they are REALLY running into bugs and are solving that, but I think to be honest they are very hard working on the G series at the moment, because I believe the sales are underestimated by them [Linked Image from softronix.com].

Hi Ron,

If you search on this forum for 565 and DTS problems, you will see that Meridian has not changed, and they already had the same attitude towards customer service ... sad indeed.

If they sell more, they should logically also extend their service department, otherwise that quality goes down (relatively)

Erwin,

Now that I think of it...the 568 was a very new product for them back in early 2000. They were throwing all effort at the 568 back then.

Oh well I guess we have to live with it...you can't complain about the sound quality from Meridian gear.
