Hello All

I am trying to download Control:PC from my Ensemble but every time I click on the link in the web client it displays a message saying "Sooloos updates are currently downloading. Please try again later".

I have left it running since yesterday but it is still saying it is downloading updates.

Is there any other way of getting hold of Control:PC, I have been through the Meridian website but it seems they want you to get it from your Hardware rather than download it from there website?

I also remember there being a diagnostic link to get look at some diagnostic display from the Sooloos hardware. I have searched through this site but I cant find it, I'm sure it was something like http:\\***.***.****.***\diagnostic, can anyone remember?

Thanks in advance

Pwack

Hi,

Have you recently updated Sooloos? 2.477 is the latest version.

Use can the debug page to find out what version it is running.

Have you tried rebooting the Ensemble?

If that does not work, you may have to contact Meridian Sooloos support, so they can connect to the system remotely.

Regards,
Carl

Thanks BigT/Carl

It's running version 2.397, I have rebooted it this morning but it still gives the same message, shame as everything else looks fine but without Control:PC I can't load any music on it!

Looks like I will have to request a remote session from Sooloos support.

You may try to get the Control:PC Installer directly from your Ensemble by connecting via SMB smb://IPAddress (Login as guest).

Then you find the installer under updates/live/ControlPC

But I think you have a general problem with your Ensemble.

I found the issue in the end, the configuration program was reporting 0GB storage, I removed the disc and popped the disc into a desktop caddie and disc checked out fine.

Opened the unit up and unplugged the SATA and power leads from the onboard caddie and plugged direct into the disc and started the unit up.

Once it had formatted the disc and come online the storage is now registered correctly and I can download Control:PC and Touch:PC.

So it looks like I have a dodgy caddie connector.

Was your Ensemble previously working ok with this disk fitted? I'm curious to understand why the Ensemble formatted it when it was refitted.

When the disk was in the caddie did you re-format with the PC?
That would explain why it had to be reformatted by Sooloos once more.

Carl

Hello Carl

I reformatted while it was my desktop caddie as part of my diagnostics as well as running some disk tests. I had done this prior to plugging it directly onto the cables. When it went back in the Ensemble caddie there was no change so that made me dig a little deeper.

One note:- I was able to plug a VGA lead onto my motherboard as mine has a VGA socket and monitor the POST boot, while this is displayed you can see whether any disks have been detected by the motherboard.

Tanks for additional info, that would explain it ... good spot with the VGA display.

Carl
