I updated the 818 and MS600s, decided it was easiest to bring out the Sooloos gear and a lot of wires and let it do it automatically, rather than researching. Worked great.

But without updating the speakers it doesn't change things.

Read the thread about adapter cabling. I'm constitutionally disinclined to solder. But I found an RJ45 to USB adapter on Amazon, ordered one, we will see if it works:

Don't try that adaptor.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that adaptor is ethernet (network) and you need SpeakerLink (serial) which is completely different electrically. Potentially, it could cause harm to your speakers if you plug it in.

You have paid enough money to get your dealer to do it. Failing that, they should give you an RJ45 to serial cable which you can then connect to a USB/Serial converter. Failing that, if I can find it, you can have mine.

Your dealer should be doing the speaker update. I'm shocked they hadn't already seen to that.

Failing that, Meridian HQ should be able to send you the correct cable and have it in your hands in a few days. Or maybe a fellow forum member in the US can share one.
