I have a pair of M6s driven off an AC200 and I am happy with them up to a point but there's a hard edge to the sound when playing loud and I'm wondering if the bass driver is limiting and whether using a single DSW playing L+R will help clean up the sound by off-loading the deepest bass from the M6s.

I'm not much interested in shaking the floor, more in cleaning up the sound.

Does anyone have any experience of using the DSW with the M6s?

Well not a lot of experience judging by the lack of responses.

I decided then to buy one to see how well it works with the M6s and the answer is quite well. The system will play louder and more cleanly plus of course there's greater bass extension and a sense of space being filled. The bass unit and the amplifier in the M6 must run out of headroom quite quickly as you wind up the volume and off-loading the higher energy stuff to the DSW gives it more room to breathe.

It's quite interesting to feel the activity of the DSW cone and think that's what the M6 bass units were trying to handle.

I realise the M6s are perhaps more style than substance but they fill a price point.

My DSW serial number is in the low 400s so it looks like this is not a popular option with any of the DSP loudspeakers but I am happy with my purchase though I expect the M6s will be replaced in time.

Thanks for posting back. Despite not being a hugely popular combo some user feedback is good to record.

Glad you're enjoying the sub with your M6's. I just took the plunge on an SW1600 with my DSP3100s and have experienced a huge step up in pure musical enjoyment from room filling presence to greater minor details and top end as my satelites have been freed from the bass burden. & that's just music... Movies are awesome!

Interesting topic. I have typical bass issues caused by room modes. DSWs might help while waiting/hoping for robust MRC solution in 818!

FWIW, Music Matters in Solihull have the M6 with DSW on demo at the moment.

Thank you for the post. I have also been contemplating adding DSW to my system for similar reasons. There does not seem to be many comments regarding DSW on the site. I have been looking through many threads at signatures to see what subs are in various systems and find it surprising that even with the newer Meridian SW series, more people are choosing JL Audio F113, REL G2, and Velodyne DD15. Would appreciate comments or recomendations.
