I love Bruce Springsteen with the Seeger Sessions band live in Dublin. I really wish I had been there.
The DVD presents the perfect concert with super sound quality to boot.

Enjoy.. Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Love - Forever Changes. Back in the late 60's I never understood why it did not it did not become a massive hit immediately and only gradually became to be accepted as one of the all time great albums that every body should have in their collection.

Hector: great question. I will list several for different reasons, but each of which planted a seed for me ...

Dvorak Symphony No 9 (from the New World) used to be played at junior school when we were filing in to assembly.
Beethoven Symphony No 7 - was the theme tune to a weekly BBC Radio 3 programme that was always on in my parents house. The tunes packed into these two kindled my love affair with classical music.

Vienna by Ultravox was the first pop album I loved - it came out in my mid-teens - & I listened to it over-and-over again, straining to hear the lyrics on my walkman and write them down. this caused me to acquire all their John Foxx-era punk albums too, opening more doors. Then a friend bought me the first Iron Maiden album ("Iron Maiden") which hooked me and caused me to explore in and around the older 'heavy' stuff which others have listed: Zeppelin, Purple, Sabbath, Floyd.

Lastly: a radio Jazz top 20. I think it was Gilles Peterson on Radio London in the 1980s. First time I heard 'My Favourite Things' by John Coltrane. Thrilling. I had to go out and buy it immediately. Another genre to drown in :-)

My 3rd & final pick would be The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths.

It came out in 1985, & despite me being at college in Leeds at that time, I didn't get into The Smiths for another decade or more. Now it's one of my All Time Favourite Albums Of All Time (with a nod to Smashey & Nicey!).

I Know It's Over might just be my favourite track of all time; it needs a bit of right hand down, but it's utterly magnificent. Morrissey is still churning out great material of course & is one of the true icons, not just from music, but from all spheres. A true great.

So my music is largely rock & pop and a fair bit of acoustic / folk. Some classical is sublime but it would only form a tiny % of my listening. Virtually no jazz or blues or hip-hop / rapp / R&B.

I'd have to add Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells A Story. Just bought the remastered version on HD Tracks and it's bringing back some amazing memories of road trips as a kid.

I'd also nominate Supertramp's Breakfast In America. We used to sing along to that one all summer as kids after we discovered it in my friend's parents' record collection!
