Firmware updates are performed via the the SpeakerLink connection.
Have a look at this
SpeakerLink used as Digital Out (XLR or SPDIF) and RS232 topic for connection derails.
To confirm the version of firmware loaded, using an adaptor cable, hook a PC running the flash uploaded and click the identify button.
