I think I said early on in this thread or a similar thread that it is an unusual but terrific thing that we, HH & Sooloos users, have choices here. That is pretty much unheard of on Planet M.
There is no rush to jump into Roon or make any decisions. Roon only came out last week after all.
Let the folks figure out what can be offered and hopefully John and Bob will be back on HH in due course to share what the plans are.
Good advice! I've already invested so much in my Meridian Sooloos hardware, I might as well wait to see if I can get the best of both worlds before jumping ship. That being said, the Sooloos software was the main reason for my Meridian product purchases, so my loyalty to Meridian has diminished and I will likely pursue a Roon based system either way.
Roon, MS600, Simaudio 780D, Simaudio P-8/W-8 and Revel Studio 2s
Though to be fair at least the licence for the MC200 is transferable should you choose to sell it - the Roon licence is non-transferable (unless you pass your login to someone else...)

It fascinates me that people are upset about $500 for Roon. Elsewhere on this forum people discuss the advantages of premium cabling, where Audioquest Vodka is a bargain model, at $528 for 10 feet.
And people complain about Tidal, who provides the content we enjoy, at $20 per month, while a high speed internet connection costs most of us $50 or more.
Full disclosure, I have no interest in Roon but I do have an interest in software, having worked in that industry for 40 years. I think the real value is in the software, and in the content.
Without content the Internet is a pipe. Without intelligent software, you can get a dumb data streamer for a few thousand.

Good point but I doubt the same folks complain about $500 Roon and buy $500 network cables. I'm not happy to pay £20 for Tidal (that's about $31) at present. I currently pay about the same for my FTTC broadband connection. That gives me 16 Mbps vs ADSL which gave me 800Kbps. I know which is worth £20 to me. Come the advent of MQA via Tidal (assuming it will stream with my current kit) I might well reassess the cost of Tidal. But for now I have a great music collection to enjoy in the best reproduction quality I can afford.
All the best
Richard

I would rather spend every spare penny of regular income that I earn on upping my pension pot rather than on duplicating what I already own. Subscription services come out of regular income, the nice toys in life come from irregular windfalls or not spending all my monthly allowance.
And for reference, in UK we pay much more for Tidal than $20/m and I pay much less for fibre broadband than $50/m so the worth of each service is very different. My 36Mbs fibre connection costs less than Roon subscription.
