I still can not point to my Ensemble storage. Is there a clear guide to do this?

I failed to find the music folder in my Ensemble over network.
I run roon app in my surface.

Albert, as noted in a few other places, you would be better off pointing Roon at an exported folder. The hit rate will be better and you have an easier task to find it and map to it.

As Nick says an export would be better, are you familiar with how to do that?

Nick's and Russ advice to Export from your Sooloos library to another drive is definitely the best advice for medium and longer term

However, in order to just TRY Roon and see what it's capable of doing and displaying etc., then point Roon at the following folder

"smb://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/Music/Music2"......without the quotation marks obviously

Go into Control:PC / Mac or Web and take a note of the IP address that is displayed there for your Sooloos core

Enter that IP address in place of the 4 "xxx" entries in the above address......and Roon will then be pointed at the Sooloos folders containing your Sooloos albums

Just remember that the Sooloos database folder structure will prevent Roon from properly identifying all your albums.......but it will still identify probably around 75% of them.........and will be enough for you to experiment with Roon for a while

But for the longer term, Exporting to another drive is definitely the way to go

I left roon running whole night, when I checked this morning 96% tracks identified.

I downloaded a trial run of Roon on Mac (OSX Mavericks) and am trying to have it "watch" my MC200. I understand the preferred practice is to do a native export, but my goal at present is simply to see if Roon is for me before committing to a subscription.

I've read the various posts about connecting it via "smb://xxx.xxx.x.x/Music/Music2" etc., but have had no success whatsoever. It should be obvious that I'm no computer wizard.

Any step by step screen shots available to guide me? Would love to join the party but feeling left out at present.

Have you turned the MC200 core off and is it set to be an audio end point?

Have you gone to Roon setting to enable the MC200?
