What a great catch. Very cool reinterpretations of JH classics. Marvelous when you have the house to yourself.

The album is especially impressive in that Brian is playing everything except the Drums.
Even the spectacular Guitar sections are played via numerous Bass’ - played through Guitar pedals, Amps, and Pro Tools Guitar plug-ins.
Not an Actor, nor married to Jamie-Lee Curtis.

He was previously mentioned on this forum by Dutchie1966 on June 26 2020 in the Killer Bass Tracks Thread.
I have 14 favourite Tidal BB albums in my library but have never located "BASSically Speaking", can you give me a clue as to where it can be found.

Absolutely sublime vocal and production. Love the closed mic recording, no reverb etc on the vocal so it's very intimate sounding.
For those who don't know, she did the latest bond theme 'No time to die' as well. If we ever get to see the movie...

Extreme left and right panning for drums and bass, with what sounds like an old upright clanky piano in the centre. Then again this was recorded about 57 years ago....

Anything from The Rippingtons. I agree: I own several of their albums. The title track from ‘Black Diamond’, and ‘North Peak’ are excellent Bass driven tracks. Anything from ‘Fountain of Youth’ is a good system workout.

I have the LIM K2HD version of We Get Requests. The tracks are in a different order, You Look Good To Me is Track 1.
Its almost enough to get me to try a Tidal demo, just to hear that track in MQA. The little booklet that came with it, made reference to how poor the masters were for the album so there was a limit to what they could do.
One of my goto demo tracks though.

It’s interesting, it might be technically flawed (from what you mention with the masters) but I’ve always enjoyed this, since my first source, which was the CD one, I think a verve remastered one from the 90s. And likewise it’s a go to track (I like the Girl from Ipanema cover).
@VK I’d love to hear a home demo of that if ever possible, please 😀
