Hi,

My G98 will not play the latest 5.1 Steven Wilson Hand Cannot Erase DVD-A disc.
It will play all his other discs and Kscope 5.1 discs.

Is it a firmware problem?
Is there anything I can do?

Thanks

If it helps, I am not sure, I tried to rip the DVD yesterday and found only video files and no audio files on it.

It could be a mis-press. I would get onto the Burning Shed website and see if they are aware or can advise.

Thank you guys.

I will send Burning Shed an email, sent one to Kscope yesterday and no response as of yet.
Failing that I will give it back to him when I see him live next week.

Cheers,
Keith.

Spoke to Burning Shed appears another Meridian user has been in touch with them. I phoned Meridian and they will take the disc in and disect it if needs be. I will wait a few days to see if there is more feedback.

Yeah, lucky you. All NL shows are sold out.

The other M user Burning shed refers to is probably me. I think they misunderstood me, as I rip on my PC with DVD AudioExtractor.

The disc should play perfectly in hi-res stereo or DTS on your standard DVD player.

Please let me know if that is the case.

Thanks,

Anyhow, your problem is DVD play, mine is ripping. 2 different issues unless there is indeed no audio file available on the disc. Sorry to hitchhike on your thread. smile
My mankey old el cheapo DVD player manages to play Disney but is not a high res audio player so I don't use it, a very handy dust collector it is.
I might get myself an external Bluray player for my laptop to see if I can rip that disc.

Further tips appreciated.
Cheers!

If you can make an MKV file of the right title them Foobar2000 will open the MKV and allow you to save the first audio track to FLAC on a PC.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Hi,

Just a further update on Meridian players not playing latest 5.1 discs from K-scope records. K scope have sent two discs to Meridian for them to view, Steven Wilson and Gavin Harrison latest releases.

I understand other Meridian users have similar problems with these discs not playing according to K scope. As soon as I hear something I will post it on this forum.

All I know at the moment is that the discs are manufactured in Poland.
