Hi,

Need some help from you knowledgeable ones. I have been using my MC200 without issue from my iPad.

I just added an MS600 that I picked up used and installed it into my rack. I powered it up and 4 white lights light up left to right on the front of it and after it finishes the power button turns blue which I assume means it is now off.

So I press the power button and it is white (I assume means turned on). The little LAN lights on the back of it are flashing where the Ethernet cable is plugged in but I can't see the MS600 on my network, nor the MAC address listed on it on my network.

Also I can't see the MS600 from within Control:PC. Any suggestions so I can start using it?

Not in front of mine at the moment but from power on the front LEDs run through a sequence, when they all go out it is up and running. Just go to your iPad when that happens and see if it appears in the zone list, select it and your done. If not, time to look at the network!

Hi Spero,

Did the previous owner have it setup for DHCP or with a fixed IP address? If the later it may be on a different sub to your own LAN.

Have you tried running the Meridian Sooloos Configuration program (on a PC connected by cable to your LAN) to see if it finds the MS600?

Just to correct assumption in original post, blue power switch and all LEDs out = on just in case you are powering it off by mistake.

Long shot, and probably not the case here, but when I installed my MS600 initially I plugged the ethernet cable into the SpeakerLink input!

Forgot to mention, there is an app you can put on the iPad from the Apple store called FING

It will tell you what IP devices are on your network. Hopefully you will see something like ms600_your MAC address.home with Meridian Audio as the manufacturer. I always find it a good simple app to start troubleshooting with.

I agree with Carl on this one. It sounds like it has a static IP address that does not work on your network. If you know the previous owner, check with him to find out and see if he remembers the IP address. If he's close by, take it back to him and have him clear the static entry and set it to DHCP.

Maybe someone else here may know if there is a secret combination of button pressing and power toggling that can reset the MS600 to factory defaults.

As Carl said the Sooloos Config Program downloadable from here will find the MS600 irrespective of its IP address.

I do have it plugged into the Ethernet port
I now have the power switch on the front illuminated Blue which is on (thanks 11ldp)

I downloaded the Sooloos Configure app as per Carl suggestion and it finds the MS600. (Thanks Carl)

However when I click on it to configure it says "Nothing to configure". When I type the IP address into the browser it wont load anything. And both my iPad App and Control:PC still can't see it.

So a networking issue probably?

What IP address does the Sooloos config program show the MS600 as having? And what are the addresses of your other devices? The MS600 is configured by using a browser to access its IP address, from there all config options are available.
