Anyone know what motherboard is used in an Ensemble? I have 3 units that are defective and would like to at least try and replace the mobo.

It's a AM2 mini ITX board but not sure of mfg.

Any help is appreciated.

You might PM Marc Koval, a forum member who performs repair services on Meridian equipment after a long career with Meridian USA. The PrivateMessage function is under "My Stuff" on the top banner, then Messages, then "new private message". There is also a user list for PM addresses of the members.

Sadly I've fallen foul of a blown Motherboard! Apart from the MotherShip, is there anyone that can repair these things outside of Warranty in UK???

Cheers

Whilst ChrisJC is always worth a chat to, don't write off Mother too quickly. They fixed my Source:Five.

My Motherboard has also become faulty. The unit won't boot up.

So that makes it 5 that have been reported in this thread.

I wonder if it is some common fault that occurs after 5 years.

One possible age-related failure would be the motherboards real-time clock / configuration settings backup battery.

The backup battery is indeed flat.

Do you have any idea how to restore the configuration settings?

If you replace the battery, I wonder if the system will take care of the settings for you.

Failing that, I'm guessing that it has a VGA socket on the board. If you were feeling brave enough to access it and plug in a USB keyboard, it should be possible to get into the BIOS and put things right (assuming that it the problem).

I replaced a motherboard and dead battery in a Source:One and it worked fine afterwards without doing anything else.

If a motherboard is replaced you will have to tell Meridian you changed boards from the one with your current MAC address to a new board and MAC address or else it won't log into the Meridian cloud service. Without that it won't update unless you re-register it.

It will work without doing that but it just won't get the next software update. I paid a premium partner for their time to help me register the MAC address.
