I expect that some of you will have already heard of the sudden passing of Paul Webb, our Director of Sales, but I wanted to make an official post. We are all deeply shocked and extremely sad but our focus is on doing all that we can to support Paul's young family during this difficult time.
Paul was more than a just a Meridian colleague to us, and he was admired & respected throughout the wider HiFi community. A number of you will have met Paul at the numerous events he attended in support of our UK and international dealer partners and I am sure that those of you who got to know Paul will agree that he was passionate, sincere and fun - a person in whose company you felt at ease because he truly enjoyed what he did.
Paul also worked very closely with the moderators of this community, recognising that this forum is a key part of Meridian's communications with customers, and we will of course continue to work with the moderators to keep this excellent and important forum updated and informed.
Paul was very special and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him. Please feel free to contribute to this thread if you would like to share a memory or leave a message about Paul.
Thank you for taking the time to post on Hitchhikers of this tragic news, I know how hard it is to get the words right.
Having had the pleasure of Paul's company at Meridian HQ, at HiFi events and especially post event enjoying a beer, some good food and great informal conversation - he shall be sadly missed.
From myself and on behalf of all Hitchhikers please pass on our condolences to his family and the team at Meridian.
I welcome the opportunity to pass on my sympathy to Paul's family and friends. And I am sure he will be greatly missed by all his colleagues at Meridian.
I do not claim to have known Paul well but always found him friendly and helpful. I am sure there are many here who will be able to write better tributes than me.
Thank you so much for sharing this terribly sad news here for the wider Meridian family to see. It is so hard to find the right words for such an exceptional man.
I know that many folks here did have the pleasure to meet Paul on many occasions like MWL events, Bristol, SE Roadshows, etc. He would tirelessly give his undivided attention and time.
He was also very modest so folks may not know that Paul was fully committed to Meridian's customers and especially our community here. He was instrumental both behind the scenes and directly supporting us in many ways with his enthusiasm and sincerity.
Please pass our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
This is very sad news and we want to express our condolences to the family and wish them much strength in these difficult times. I have met Paul a couple of times and every time we had a good laugh next to some lovely chats and some serious discussions. He passed away way too early.
May I add my condolences, I never met Paul but can see from the messages that he had a great, positive impact on all those who knew him. It is always sad when someone passes too soon. Chris.

Such sad news. I only met Paul once but he made a big impression on my wife and I. Nothing was too much trouble and he spent over an hour discussing our needs and ensuring that we left with all our requirements completely addressed. A very warm, dedicated and charming individual. Heartfelt Condolences to his family and work coleagues alike.
